Hertner, Block &
Associates, Inc. (HBAI), was founded in 1984 to service the legal
staffing needs for partners, associates and mergers of law firms, in addition
to general counsel and staff counsel for corporations. Herbert
H. Hertner initially founded Ott Hertner Ott & Associates, Inc. in
1970, a retained national executive search firm with offices in New York,
Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia and Miami, to service corporate clients
in their need to identify, evaluate and secure key executive talent for
their organizations. Representative clients included Coca Cola, Abbott
Laboratories, Coopers & Lybrand, FMC Corporation, Marriott Corporation,
Pepsi-Cola, Ryder and Burger King Corporation.
With the growth of the legal profession in the 1980's, Herb Hertner and his staff focused all of their recruiting efforts on legal search, working with premier law firms and corporations in expanding their staffs. HBAI has concentrated its efforts in the state of Florida, however in addition has developed a network of leading search firms in all major cities in the United States. The firm has earned a reputation of handling both clients and candidates on an ethical and confidential basis.

a national professional organization committed to upholding the highest ethical

Herbert
H. Hertner
Mr. Hertner has served as advisor and search consultant since 1970
to leading law firms and corporations with U.S. and international
operations. He has conducted searches for partners, associates and
in-house counsel for all practice disciplines. Mr. Hertner has been
an expert witness, involved with acquisition/merger consultations
and active in evaluating attorney compensation. He has been quoted
in the National Law Journal and The Daily Business Review on numerous
occasions. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University
with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering, Mr. Hertner served
in Vietnam as a Liason Officer and Combat Helicopter Pilot. He retired
as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He currently serves as a
Board Member with The National Association of Legal Search Consultants
(NALSC).

David J. Block, Esq.
Mr. Block is a 1992 graduate of the University of Miami School of
Law, where he served as Vice President of Entertainment and Sports
Law Society. He practiced general civil litigation in Florida for
several years. He was also a Supervising Attorney for the United
States Small Business Administration, delivering agency relief to
disaster victims and also worked as an athlete agent representative.
Mr. Block has developed a large network of in-house clients.

Danielle G. Bowser, Esq.
Ms. Bowser is a 1997 graduate of Duke University School of Law,
where she served as an Articles Editor of the Duke Journal of
Comparative & International Law and a Staff Editor of the
Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy. She practiced commercial
litigation and employment law at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart and specialized
in employment law at Steel Hector & Davis and Baker & McKenzie.
She is licensed in Florida, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania
and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar
Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Dade
County Bar Association.

Pamela S. Spalter, Esq.
Ms. Spalter was Corporate Counsel for a Florida company for 12 years
prior to joining Hertner, Block & Associates, Inc. She is a
graduate of St. Thomas School of Law, 1993, where she was recipient
of the American Jurisprudence Award, Family Law, and an Academic
Scholarship. Ms. Spalter specializes in prominent law firms and
corporate legal departments located in the Central, Northern, and
Western regions of Florida, as well as Atlanta, Georgia. She is
licensed to practice law in Florida.

Pamela R. Hertner
Ms. Hertner was an executive search consultant prior to joining
Hertner, Block & Associates, Inc. and currently specializes
in legal searches for associates and in-house counsel in the litigation,
real estate and corporate fields. In addition, she is responsible
for the financial operations of the company. She was a realtor participating
in commercial and residential real estate transactions in the Miami
area for fifteen years.

Donna H. Huck
Ms. Huck was formerly employed as the Director of New Projects for
the CT Group, a cruise industry related company with headquarters
in London. She currently conducts searches for associates and partners
in the health care and litigation practice areas. She served as a
former Chairman of the Board of Miami Children's Hospital and presently
serves as Chairman of the Board of Radio Lollipop USA, an international
charity.

Julie A. Ramos-Freimuth
Ms. Ramos-Freimuth is the firm's administrator responsible for candidate
and client research, correspondence and computer technical support.
She has been in the administrative field for over 25 years, formerly
employed as an executive administrator in 1984 for Telectronics Pacing
Systems and also as a marketing administrator with a major mall handling
over 110 retailers. Ms. Ramos-Freimuth has studied Computer Science
and has outstanding skills in coordinating the operation of a business
office.
