Hertner, Block & Associates,
Inc. recruits attorneys for Florida and National law firms and corporations.

for associate, partner or in-house legal positions are as follows:
ASSOCIATE LEVEL:

· Law school rank (top 20%) and activities (Law Review, Moot Court, etc.)
· Present firm (type and quality of clients)
· Candidate's mentor (training and quality of work)
PARTNER LEVEL:
· Portable book of business
· Quality of clients and type of business
· Past employment (quality of firm)
· Status of career
IN-HOUSE COUNSEL:
· Past experience - law firm or corporation
· Industry specialization
· Language capability
· Academics
GETTING STARTED - CANDIDATE EVALUATION
The first step in the placement process begins when a candidate submits
a resume to our office. After carefully reviewing the resume of a qualified
candidate, we advise the candidate of available opportunities. If appropriate,
we refine the resume to more effectively highlight their background, experience
and skills. As new positions are identified, we immediately contact the
candidate and discuss the new situations with them. Our office will review
the individual's desires, needs, concerns and background so we can be
effective advocates on their behalf.
RESPONSE TO RESUMES
Unfortunately, our business is such that in order to effectively service our clients, we
cannot respond to every candidate's resume unless they are qualified and meet the needs
and requirements of our client firm or corporation. We will, however, keep all qualified
candidate resumes on file and on our database and notify you should an opportunity arise
for which your credentials satisfy the criteria of a law firm or corporation.
Pursuant to the code of ethics of the National Association
of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC), HBAI will not submit a candidate's resume or disclose
their identity to a firm or corporation without the candidate's prior permission.
PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATE
Upon receipt of the candidate's approval, we present the individual to the appropriate
hiring authority in the firm or corporation, accentuating the candidate's accomplishments
as they relate to the position. Thereafter, should the firm express an interest in the
candidate, we assist in scheduling an interview.
INTERVIEW PREPARATION
As the interview date approaches, we provide the candidate with information
about the firm including its culture, the nature of the position, responsibility
and relevant partner or executive profile. We provide interviewing tips
and techniques that have been useful in helping candidates present their
qualifications most effectively. Following the interview, we act as a
conduit evaluating feedback between the firm or corporation and the candidate.
OFFER NEGOTIATION
We assist in negotiating the terms of any offer including salary, bonus,
incentive compensation, partnership track, benefits package, relocation
reimbursement etc. We maintain detailed and current information about
salaries and incentive packages offered by law firms and corporations.
Should multiple offers be extended, we assist the candidate in evaluating
each offer according to their career goals.
